Coming Soon…

This is the official research blog for the Distributed Family Tree, an open network of genealogical data and metadata. In a nutshell, the big idea is that we can combine all available genealogical information on the Internet into a single distributed network. The foundation for this network is the substance of the Master's Thesis that I am currently working on.
Whoa. That looks pretty cool.
Thanks :). It’s even better interactive!
If you can turn the circle chart into something that conveys the textual info and also stays visually pleasing you are making a wonderful leap forward. Too often these charts end up (usually constrained by installed libraries) looking awkward and badly composed (text is tough). Even the addition of your “generational information stops here caps” on the slices is a great touch. Will look forward to seeing your wizardry.
Will double clicking on one of the outer individuals then select that individual as the center person and reconstruct the graph for that person?
Close, single-clicking on any individual will refocus the circle diagram on that individual.
